Our Story

The Vision. The Need. The Impact.

The service hub of Labrador, Happy Valley-Goose Bay continues to attract individuals, families, young professionals and business interests from throughout the world. It is an attractive location with its connections by road, sea and air, positioning it as a gateway to coastal Labrador as well as to Europe, Canada’s North and the rest of North America.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay welcomes all those from all regions of Labrador as well as visitors who convene in the community for various tournaments, major events, business, travel, recreation, or to live while enjoying an exceptional quality of life. It is our goal to make Happy Valley-Goose Bay a preferred destination for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, Canadians and international interests.

To meet the needs of this growing region, the Town has partnered with the YMCA and through this partnership the Strengthening Our Communities Campaign was born to raise the remaining funds needed to build a modern, accessible facility that can provide wellness supports and child care to current and future populations in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and surrounding areas.
